serendipity is the effect or faculty of making a wise and fortuitous discovery, without going in search of what one ends up finding. The word was coined in 1754 by Horace Walpole, 4th Earl of Orford, to describe this wonderful situation. We're sure he'd have enjoyed our take on browsing the web!
